Infincom Receives Prestigious Award for Business Excellence

Tempe, Arizona, September 9, 2010 – Infincom, a local woman-owned office technology company has been awarded the 2010 Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.

The Sloan Award honors employers across the nation that effectively use workplace flexibility to meet both organizational and employee goals.  Over 700 applicants of all sizes and industry sectors were evaluated in a rigorous two-step process.  Only 28 Arizona companies earned this distinction.

“We are extremely proud to receive this recognition,” said Tiffany Bucher, president of Infincom.  “The most important thing we can do for our employees is recognize that a well-balanced life fosters well-rounded people.  We strive to offer a work environment that promotes positive energy, teamwork and an attitude of giving.   Life is about more than work.  Our employees honor this philosophy by working smarter and giving more to our clients and each other.   It makes all the difference in the world.”

The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of the national When Work Works project, an ongoing initiative of Families and Work Institute, the Institute for a Competitive Workforce (an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce), and the Twiga Foundation. The Chandler Chamber of Commerce is the official When Work Works partner for the state of Arizona.

The selection process is rigorous. First, employers’ flexibility programs and practices are measured against national norms from Families and Work Institute’s National Study of Employers. Employees are then surveyed confidentially on their access to flexible work options, the supportiveness of the culture and on nationally tested measures of workplace effectiveness.

“As a recipient of the 2010 Sloan Award, Infincom ranks in the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of its programs, policies and culture for creating an effective and flexible workplace,” states Ellen Galinsky, president of Families and Work Institute. “In addition, what makes this honor so special is that employees have corroborated this, affirming that it is indeed an effective and flexible workplace.”
